Ludo Star League

Ludo Star League is a digital, multiplayer version of the classic board game Ludo. Players face off in real-time with 2 to 4 participants (friends or random opponents), each controlling a set of tokens (or pieces) racing around the board. The aim is to move all your tokens from your starting area, around the track, and into your “home” zone before the other players. The game features online matches, friendly rooms, different modes, and the social fun of competing with others.

Instruction:

How to Play

1. Game Setup

  • Each player chooses their colour and receives four tokens.

  • All tokens start off the main track in a starting yard/home corner.

  • Players take turns in a clockwise order.

2. Starting a Token

  • On your turn, you roll the six-sided die (digital).

  • To bring a token from the starting yard onto the main track, you must roll a “6”.

  • When you roll a 6 and bring a token out, you also get a bonus/extra roll.

3. Moving Tokens

  • After you have one or more tokens on the track, you use the number rolled to move one of your tokens forward that many spaces (clockwise around the board).

  • If you roll a 6 at any turn (even after your tokens are in play), you get another roll.

  • If you cannot make a legal move (e.g., no token can move the exact number), your turn passes to the next player.

4. Capturing Opponents & Safe Zones

  • If your token lands exactly on a square occupied by an opponent’s token, your opponent’s token is sent back to their starting yard. This gives you an advantage.

  • Some squares are designated “safe zones” (often marked by stars or special colouring). Tokens resting there cannot be captured.

  • Also, if two of your tokens occupy the same non-safe square, they may form a “block” which the opponent’s single token cannot pass or capture (depending on the version).

5. Entering the Home Column & Winning

  • Once a token has completed the circuit around the board and is ready to enter its coloured home column, you must roll the exact number required to move it into the final square.

  • The first player to move all four tokens into their home zone (centre) wins the game.

6. Special/Advanced Rules (may apply)

  • Rolling three consecutive 6s may result in losing your turn (in some variations).

  • Strategy involves balancing getting tokens out, advancing them, forming blocks for protection, and using captures to slow opponents.

  • Online versions often include additional features: quick mode games, undo options, chat between players, tournaments, etc. (for example, the broader game family of the app includes such features).
